How to Easily Customize our Templates

This post was created to help you customize the different templates we shared on our website.
Up to now, we have these templates available but we plan on sharing more so make sure you come back later or subscribe to our newsletter so you never miss anything.

Anyway, first things first!

You will need a software to edit .svg files. I strongly suggest you download Inkscape (this is the program I use for any graphic or image on this website). It’s totally free and it’s a powerful alternative to other expensive softwares like Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. You can still use Photoshop or AI to edit these but I won’t be able to help you since I don’t know a thing about them.
Keep in mind that I am absolutely not a professional illustrator.

How to edit text

  • Click on the text you want to edit to select it
  • Press DEL to delete it.
  • Use the Text tool (F8) to add text.
  • To change or edit font, click on “Text>Text and fonts” on the top bar. (This works like Microsoft Word.)

How to replace images

  • Click on any image to select it.
  • Press DEL to delete it.
  • Add any image by sliding it into Inkscape.
  • Scale and position accordingly using the arrows.

How to edit icons

To add/replace icons:

  • Click on any icons.
  • Press DEL to delete it.
  • Slide any icons in Inkscape.
  • Scale and position accordingly using the arrows.

If you want to find more free icons, just go to www.flaticon.com. This is where I found all the icons I ever needed.

To edit icons:

  • Click on the “Edit paths by nodes” tool (F2)
  • Click on any icons
  • Edit the icon by moving nodes around and moving the nodes’ handles.
For more info on this, take a look at:

How to change colors

  • To change the color of almost anything in Inkscape, just click on the element you want.
  • Select the new color using the color palette at the bottom of the screen

How to get better with Inkscape

If you want to be able to create more complicated things in Inkscape, my best advice would be that you take a look at Nick Saporito’s Youtube channel for awesome Inkscape tutorials.

This is where I learned absolutely all I know about Inkscape. Big thanks to that guy!

That’s it!

With these instructions you should be able to customize all our templates to suit your needs.
If you still need any help, have any questions or suggestions, just send me an email and I will try to help you the best I can.

In the meantime, have a nice day!
